Special Events/Projects

LINUS Project—This project provides blankets to children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies or anywhere a child may be in need of a big hug! We always have fleece blankets to tie at each meeting for those not participating in our “make and take” project. One meeting a year (usually March) is devoted to LINUS in tracing patterns to be used in quilts that will be given to children.

AVIVA Project—For this project we cut and sew tote bags that will be filled with toiletry items and given to AVIVA. AVIVA’s mission is to improve the quality of life for children who are victims of neglect, abuse and poverty and are in the care of the Department of Child Safety.

Summer Project—Members meet every Wednesday during June through August for our Summer Project. This project consists of creating felt napkin holders which are then distributed to local nursing homes, daycare facilities and shelters for use with their Christmas dinner each year. This past summer we made over 650 napkin holders.
